Puno (3825m above sea level) is a beautiful touristic city located on the border of Bolivia at the shore of Lake Titicaca. Puno was the center of the Tiahuanacu culture, one of the most important pre-Inca cultures and had the maximum population of the Aymara people. The city of Puno is famous for its varied and colorful folk traditions, as it has some of the most dazzling and richest folklore ceremonies around Peru. The legend says that it was here where the Inca-king Manco Capac and his wife Mama Ocllo, ordered their god, The Sun, to found the Inca Empire.

Day 01: Reception - Sillustani

Upon arrival in Puno, you will be transferred to your hotel. The afternoon tour will begin at 2:00pm. We will pick you up from your hotel to visit the pre-Inka cemetery. On the route you can enjoy pretty landscapes of the highlands and Lake Umayo and The Chullpas of Sillustani built in the pre-Inka cemetery, which has a round shape and is 4 meters heigh. The Tiahuanaco Culture left valuable vestiges at this site centuries ago. On our way back we will have the chance to visit a house of a local family, so we can get an insight of their life style and experience their nourishment from their ancestors. We will later return to your hotel at Puno.

Day 02: Island of the Uros - Island Amantani

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and go to the port. By a motorized boat we will visit the first floating Island of the Uros. We will enjoy and experience the Titicaca National Reserve, a wetland formed by the lake as the rainy season increases its water level. Continuing our tour, we will visit the Amantani Island, where we will stay in a local family's house. Here we will enjoy the delicious local food surrounded by the unique atmosphere of the landscape . During our stay we will visit the Pachatata Temple, watching spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. At the end of the day, we will overstay the night on the island, which is truly a natural beauty of the Andean paradise.

Day 03: Amantani Island - Island Taquile  - Puno

On day three, we will head towards Taquile Island after a nice breakfast. This remote island has a remarkable community, where the outstanding highlight of its inhabitants is their handicraft, derived from techniques developed over centuries. In this place we will see the best weavers of the ancient Peru. Then a 30 minute walk will lead us to the center of the place, where we will enjoy a typical local lunch surrounded by a cozy atmosphere and spectacular views of the lake. On the way back we will descend by a stairway of more than 500 steps. After our arrival to the port, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 04: Transfer

Transfer to the airport or bus station for departure.
